Our Story
Welcome to Hippopotoshi
Hippopotoshi started with a chef who takes food very seriously—but doesn’t think dining should feel intimidating.
Trained in some of the most demanding kitchens, he learned that true confidence doesn’t need drama. It comes from knowing your craft, respecting ingredients, and trusting that good food will speak for itself.
So we built a place where classic French cooking feels less formal, a little more playful, and very easy to enjoy—whether you’re here for a long dinner or “just one more dish.”

Everything on our menu starts the classic way:
stocks simmered patiently, sauces built layer by layer, and cooking done with intention, not shortcuts.
But once the foundations are right, we allow ourselves to play. A contrast here. A surprise there. Nothing loud—just enough to make you smile mid-bite.
The menu is kept short on purpose.
Every dish earns its place.
If it’s here, it’s because the chef likes it.
